PUBLIC COURT HEARING FOR AHMED ABU-ALI

Event:             Public Hearing for Abu-Ali

Date:                February 11, 2005

Time:                           9:30 AM

Where:             U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia* Courtroom of Judge John D. Bates*333 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20001

Despite statements given by U.S. State Department officials to the Washington Post (see http://www.masnet.org/takeaction.asp?id=2141), it is still critically important that Ahmed Abu-Ali's rights are vigorously pursued in court and that the community turns out in large numbers for the hearing to express its support.

Ahmed Abu-Ali is a 24 year old U.S. citizen who, in June 2003, while completing his final exams at the University of Medina, was arrested and detained by Saudi Security officials. No charges have ever been filed against Ahmed, nor has he had access to legal counsel since his detention.

Today marks the 608th day of his illegal detention.
