MASFF National's Third 'AJ4P' and Lebanon Rally Held at Israeli Embassy July 14

WASHINGTON, DC (MASNET) - As a part of its ongoing national American Justice for Palestine 'AJ4P' and Lebanon campaign, the Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation (MAS Freedom) rallied for the third time on July 14 across from the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Friday's peaceful demonstration, supported by the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and Voices of Peace, reiterated MAS Freedom's pledge to defend the rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese people and to promote development of a U.S. foreign policy that embraces real peace in the Middle East.

The unconditional support for Israel’s violation of the legal and human rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese people is well funded by U.S. tax dollars and special interest groups.  Dr. Martin Luther King once said, "There is a time when silence is betrayal."

To hammer that message home, MAS Freedom Foundation Executive Director, Mahdi Bray, announced at Friday's Rally that the American Justice for Palestine 'AJ4P' and Lebanon campaign would morph into a National Emergency March on Washington, set for August 12, 2006 at 12 Noon across from the White House, co-sponsored by the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and the National Council of Arab Americans (NCR).

Bray projected in his announcement of the National Emergency March on Washington that the event would unite tens of thousands in Washington to say, "No to U.S. tax dollars for Israel's war machine."

MAS Freedom initiated the American Justice for Palestine 'AJ4P' campaign on June 28, 2006 when it denounced Israel's June 27 invasion and bombing of Gaza. MAS Freedom subsequently began its campaign of rallies in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC on June 29 (photos), followed by subsequent rallies on July 6 and July 14.

Among the speakers at the July 14, 'AJ4P' Rally were:  Dr. Esam Omeish, President, Muslim American Society; Mahdi Bray, Executive Director, MAS Freedom Foundation; Brian Becker, National Director of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition; Shaker Elsayed, Imam, Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center; Ibrahim Ramey, Muslim Peace Fellowship; and Hadia Mubarak of the Muslim Students Association - National.

MAS Freedom chapters in Arizona, New York, Wisconsin, North Carolina,Texas, Tennessee, Minnesota, California, Massachusetts, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan have already held or planned 'AJ4P' press conferences, vigils, and rallies.  Additional direct action dates will appear on MAS Freedom's 'AJ4P' Event Tracker as the campaign continues to take shape across the nation.
